Today I had my final physical therapy session FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, I'M FREE AT LAST!!
Sorry. Couldn't contain myself for a moment there.
Anyway, D. came with me so the physical therapist could show him how to do the manual spinal mobilization (to limber up my thoracic spine) and myofascial release (to get the stubborn hard knots out of the connective tissue in my back). That way it will be a little easier for me to do the exercises at home.
We also reviewed my exercises one last time so I could get some final pointers on getting the most out of them, and that was that. I'm on my own now.
I've been doing one set of 5 (or 10, depending on how hard / painful the exercise is), and my goal is to do 3 sets of 10. Maybe some day I'll attain that. For now, I have to stick with what is realistic for me to do within reason, without getting frustrated and unmotivated. My motivation is hanging by the flimsiest of hairs right now as it is.
I need a bit of a break for a while, especially since I have to look into starting aquatic therapy soon. It's a relief not to have to go back to that place until a follow-up in the Pain Management Center in September.
I am very glad this particular chapter of my treatment is over!
