This Afternoon

This Afternoon

This afternoon D. and I went to Point Bonita for him to scout out good places to photograph the lighthouse.

Two days of rain had just ended, and it was misty and foggy, with wisps of blue sky peeking out now and then as the sun sank into the fogbank. We saw pelicans on the rocks and flying low over the waves. We saw seals resting on a tiny inaccessbile black sand beach at the foot of the cliffs. We saw 7 black-tailed deer, 3 hawks and a falcon. We saw a bevy of quail scuttling across the road. I thought I saw some dolphins in the open ocean outside the Golden Gate Bridge, but the mist and the distance made it hard to be sure.

Oh, and by the way, D. asked me to marry him.
