Babelfishing Poetry: You Can Return It

Babelfishing Poetry: You Can Return It

It's time again (where has the week gone?) for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, play with the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.

This time it's Emerson, Lake and Palmer's "Still You Turn Me On" (video here), providing some reassurance during this gift-giving season.

You Can Return It

Not an angel,
you'll be a star?
You want to play some magic
on my guitar?

Want to be a poet?
Will you show me a necklace?
I'll tell you the number.
You can be anything.

You see, you really
do not matter
when you're buried
in a dress of dark glass
on your eyes,
even if the meat was developed.

you can return it.
