Arastradero Preserve

Arastradero Preserve

Here are some pics from a visit to Arastradero Preserve on Sunday.

It's a little early still for wildflowers, but some hills are still green from the most recent winter rain.

The first leaves of poison oak are sprouting.

This arroyo willow is full of yellow catkins.

What's left of a dead tree provides a perch for raptors and other birds.

Views across the hillsides.

This valley oak is leafing out and has clusters of flower buds all over.

Arastradero Lake is dangerously low, due to the on-going drought.
