Babelfishing Poetry: "I Want Sad"

Hello, lovely to see you, so glad you've popped by my humble little blog (especially now that I'm up and running again) (stupid computers ). Anyway, it's Friday and time for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, kludge the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.

This week's offering kind of sums up the past two weeks for me: Tears For Fears' "Mad World" (watch an apparently poorly lip-synched original video here, or the Gary Jules version here, or Sungha Jung's beautiful guitar rendition here). Enjoy.

I Want Sad

Tired, exhausted,
a familiar face around the place.

Nowhere, a bright face
every day of the race.

Glasses are filled with tears.
No expression, no expression.

Hide my head.
I want sad.
Tomorrow and tomorrow.

How do I find it sad?
I'm finding interesting ways to die.

I have had the best dream.

I find it hard to say.
I find it difficult to consider.

When people run around,
the world is very, very angry.

Children wait a day,
making me feel so good.

Merry, merry holidays.

In fact, they each child feel that way,
sitting and listening, sitting and listening.

I went to school.
I was very nervous.

I know everyone
does not know anyone.
I did.

Hello teacher's last name,
and I will tell you something.

Look up at me,
please take my eyes.
