The Keyhole is where re-purposed landfill Byxbee Park burns off the landfill gases generated by the sixty feet of garbage underfoot. The flare stack is situated on a keyhole-shaped patch of white gravel, serving as a conceptual window for disclosing the secrets of the landform’s interior. On Friday and Saturday evening, D. and I went to the Keyhole and took some pics. (While there I saw 3 shooting stars.)
D.'s pic shows the Keyhole at night.
In my pic, a very long exposure makes a small plane landing at nearby Palo Alto Airport look like a weird UFO on the right side of the image.
