Babelfishing Poetry: "Ned, I'm Cathy"

Babelfishing Poetry: "Ned, I'm Cathy"

Hey!  Friday!  Weekend!  Yay!  Babelfish!  Woo-hoo!  Babelfish!  Song lyrics!  On-line translator!  Quirky poem!  Video!  Yeah!

In other words, it's time for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, have some fun with the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.

Someone sent me a link to this video a couple of days ago, so I've used it as the inspiration for this week's Babelfish -- Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" (watch video here).  Enjoy.

Ned, I'm Cathy

In bad dreamy last night.
They battle,
in compliance with,
and permission.

"Wuthering lost,"
said the thing to me,
"in wuthering altitudes,
wuthering."

Ned,
I'm Cathy.
Family.
I'm cold! Do to make
the low price window
open.

Commentary:

I suppose closing the low-price window wouldn't help if you're cold, so you might as well go ahead and "do to make" it open.

After running the lyrics through half a dozen different languages and the name Heathcliff remaining untranslated, all of a sudden in Romanian he was instantaneously turned into Ned.  And all the romance died right there, alas.
