Hello, how are you? How was your week? I have been convalescing from my recent surgery and finding more songs to Babelfish. And speaking of which, here's this week's Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, get a bit silly with the punctuation, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
Originally written for the 1928 musical Good Boy (we all remember Good Boy, don't we?), "I Wanna Be Loved By You" is probably best known from Marilyn Monroe's performance of it in Billy Wilder's classic farce Some Like It Hot (watch that scene from the movie here, or listen to a jazzed-up version by a sultry Sinéad O'Connor here). Enjoy.
Would You Like Gin And Touching?
Only for you, my young love them.
But you and me and others can deny torpedoes.
They want to cry alone, radio-labeling Connecticut.
And I want to kiss
you and other people (also, anyone else).
I would like to deny fish for you alone.
It will boo the bee.
I do not want to be
Would you like gin and touching?
I was myself.
