Babelfishing Poetry: "Wandered The Sphere-Dried Yam"

Babelfishing Poetry: "Wandered The Sphere-Dried Yam"

Hello! Lovely to see you, and woohoo, it's Friday already.  Hooray!  Let's kick off the weekend with some Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, adjust the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.

This week we Babelfish the cartoon theme song "I'm Popeye The Sailor Man" (sing along to the song here, or watch punk-rockers Face to Face perform their version here, or listen to a jazzy arrangement by Ted Kooshian's Standard Orbit Quartet here).  Enjoy.

Wandered The Sphere-Dried Yam

Popeye's soldiers.
Popeye's soldiers.
Degree of vibration, go strong,
fancy young greens.
Popeye's soldiers.

Difficult with gazookus?
Visit palookas repellency.
Look what he saw and heard.
Approach native-born Westerners, wandered the sphere-dried yam
in the resurrection, comfortless, rough,
but not in any place.

Fist of the North Star, encourage that.
In large open Japanese glands of flame, spoon?
The action is good.
Optional saved my life insurance.
Large water hand.

Popeye's soldiers.
Popeye's soldiers.
Degree of vibration, go strong,
fancy young greens.
Popeye's soldiers.
