On Saturday D. and I walked part of the Guadalupe River Trail between the Santa Clara Valley Water District headquarters and the Blossom Hill Rd overpass. Here are some of the pics I took.
At the riverbank.
A wiffle ball, washed up by the previous high water flow.
A coot amid reflections on the river.
Mallards on a weir.
A pied-billed grebe.
A great blue heron perched in a tree.
This groundwater recharge basin behind the Santa Clara Valley Water District headquarters has only a few inches of water in it, due to the prolonged drought.
It's a sycamore sky.
Sycamore leaves glow in the winter sunlight.
A pair of mallards watches us from the river bank.
A shady spot on the river.
A difference of opinion regarding the clearance at the Blossom Hill Rd. overpass.
This mockingbird is perhaps waiting for others to assemble?
A great egret circles over a groundwater recharge pond.
