On Saturday D. and I went to Alum Rock Park and took a short walk on the Penitencia Creek Trail before I got too tired and too hot and we had to turn around. Here are some of the pics I took while we were there.
A turkey vulture soars on thermals overhead.
A bee visits a yellow star thistle.
A view of the fire-scarred hillside from the Penitencia Creek Trail.
Three banana slugs chill at a trough beside the trail.
Fallen poison oak leaves float in the trough.
A couple of ground squirrels try to cool off by sprawling on the trail in the shade.
