Goodbye, Zuma
Goodbye, Zuma
Zuma, my pet garden snail (Helix aspersa), passed away yesterday.

She had not been doing well the past couple of weeks, not eating no matter what I tempted her with, and getting weaker. She'd spent the past two days withdrawn in her shell.
She leaves behind Hercules the milk snail (Otala lactea), Yardley (another aspersa, a baby) and Gilroy the garlic snail (Oxychilus alliarius).
Rest in peace, Zuma. Thank you for introducing me to the world of snails and to all kinds of other invertebrates too. I hope you enjoy your resting place in the ivy, among your wild cousins still living there.
