On Sunday D. and I spent some time on the Los Gatos Creek Trail, and here are some of the pics I took.
A look upstream.
A mallard hen bathes in a deep pool in the creek.
Statice grows in bunches all along the trail.
The creek is full of Canada geese; this group is having a little rest, with their bills tucked under their wings.
A pied-billed grebe swims in one of the groundwater recharge ponds next to the creek.
More Canada geese swim in Los Gatos Creek.
One of a flotilla of geese.
A cormorant dries its wings on a small island in the recharge pond.
The largest of several groundwater recharge ponds next to the creek.
This cormorant has just surfaced from fishing underwater.
Another look at the recharge pond.
A bridge over the creek accesses neighborhoods on the other side of Highway 17.
