Coyote Creek Lagoon

Coyote Creek Lagoon

On Monday D. and I decided to get some fresh air and sunshine so we returned to the Coyote Creek Lagoon Trail for a stroll.  Here are some of the pics I took.

A look at the slough next to the trail.

A Canada goose wanders in the marsh.

A goose family goes for a swim in the slough.

A look toward the lagoon.

Wild mustard is in bloom, making huge swaths of brilliant yellow everywhere.

The lagoon is quite dry at the moment.

Lichen grows on the railing of an observation platform.

A stand of cheerful flowers  next to the trail.

One of the oddest things I've ever seen on a trail anywhere.

The dead stalks of last year's cattails form large stands in the marsh.

It's low tide in the lagoon.

Two western fence lizards bask on a rock.
