Alviso Marina King Tide
Alviso Marina
Here are some pics and short videos from Sunday's visit to Alviso Marina, during a king tide.
Looking north across the salt marsh.

A black-crowned night heron hunkers down in the marsh.

One of the docks at the boat launch is underwater from the high tide.

Upstream and downstream views of the Guadalupe River.

The tide is so high the riverbanks are underwater.

One of the decrepit boats docked near the South Bay Yacht Club.

One of the yacht club docks. I don't think they get very much use these days.

Windows in an abandoned warehouse next to the trail.

Here's a short video of the wind rippling over Alviso Slough at the boat launch.
Time-lapse video of coots valiantly trying but ultimately failing to swim upstream against the powerful king tide. Why they didn't just fly over to where they wanted to go, instead of wasting time and effort struggling against the current, is a mystery to me.
Time-lapse of the muddy sediment roiled up by the tide's strong flow.
Quiet reflections at the yacht club's dock.
